We are a charitable trust promoting positive health outcomes to the people of New Zealand through education and research into viral hepatitis and early detection and long-term follow-up of chronic hepatitis B and C.
Human Rights Act 1993
It is illegal to discriminate against Hepatitis positive people. Sect 21(h)(vii) Prohibited grounds of discrimination “The presence in the body of organisms capable of causing illness.”
You cannot be sacked from employment or thrown out of accommodation. Nor can you be refused medical, hospital or dental treatment. Shops, business, restaurants and service providers cannot refuse to serve you.
